MINI-Z RWD Components

RWD Series is the rear wheel drive version of the MINI-Z. Separation of steering and drive systems realizes easy steering control, just like real rear wheel drive cars. With the lowest center of gravity in the MINI-Z range, the RWD delivers superior cornering performance.

CHASSIS & RADIO SYSTEM

Lower mounting position of the motor is a feature of the midship motor mount (MM-type). A rear mount is also available (RM-type). Heavy components including the battery are positioned low along the front to rear axis. A high performance special electronic device unit is incorporated into precision-built chassis. With the rearrangement of some parts, the wheelbase and tread can be adjusted to fit different body styles. The KT-531P transmitter operates on FHSS 2.4GHz and combines with the control program to deliver superior straight line running and linear steering feel. (※Not compatible with previous ASF/MHS/FHS2.4GHz systems).

DETAILS

1. Motor: 130-class motor with maximum speed of about 17km/h.

2. Pinion Gear: Transfers power with minimal loss with 1/100mm precision construction. Change number of gear modules to change maximum speed and acceleration characteristics.

3. Spur Gear: Transfers power with minimal loss with 1/100mm precision construction.

4. Differential: Inner wheel turning speed can be adjusted to realize smooth cornering with the high performance differential with bevel gears included as standard.

5. T-Bar Rear Suspension: Controls roll and pitching.

6. Damper: Controls roll and pitching.

7. Steering Unit: Equipped with coreless motor that delivers instant acceleration and braking response. 1/100mm precision manufactured steering gear realizes accurate control response as well as maintaining control and steering line even with kickback from the road surface.

SUSPENSION

Equipped with VCS (variable camber system) that adjusts camber in conjunction with front suspension stroke. Steers like you’re on the rails while maintaining neutral steering feel by eliminating toe-in and toe-out movement with suspension stroke. Flexibility through the T-bar suspension plate on bottom of rear suspension combines with damper on top to deliver road surface control over front and rear axles.

DIFFERENTIAL

MINI-Z RWD is equipped with high performance bevel gear differential to control the different turning speeds of inner and outer wheels as the car moves smoothly through corners.

While the MINI-Z RWD series is an easy choice as a first RC car, it has the performance and potential of a true racing car. A huge range of optional upgrade parts is available to increase running performance and add personal style touches to your machine.

First, try changing the tires

Racing radial tires are recommended. Tires are the one point of contact between the chassis and the road and are a critical performance factor, just as in full-size cars!

Change handling characteristics with different front springs

Steering feel is determined by the front springs. Default setting is for a slight under steer. Softer springs will result in sharper turning characteristics.

Rear sus plate controls front wheel traction

Component that determines chassis roll is made from either flexible FRP or hard carbon. First, choose either FRP or carbon.
